Sailors

"The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants"
Gichin Funakoshi Sensei

Influenced by writers such as Valerie Solanas, bell hooks, and Haruki Murakami, Sailors explores the internal suffering of young men through the practicing of Martial Arts and choral song.
Sailors takes place on ship out to sea for all eternity. The crew have no captain, no destination, and no memory of how they got there. Through labor the crew grapple with isolation, shame, and lost boyhood. It is only when one sailor decides to throw himself overboard that the whole ship is thrown into question. Sailors is currently in development.
